Laboratory biologist researcher (M/F)

Job title: Laboratory biologist researcher (M/F)

Company:

Location: Marseille

Job Description: Offer DescriptionThe researcher will work on the ERC project and investigate how tension and external forces instruct sarcomere assembly and maturation in human iPSC generated muscles. This involves a collaboration with the Pourquie lab in Harvard providing the cells, the Theodoly lab in Marseille for help with tissue engineering and the Giannone lab in Bordeaux for providing expertise in cell stretching. The researcher will culture iPS derived skeletal muscles cell on different matrices, varying stiffness, Matrix compositions and shapes. A cell stretcher will be used to test the impact of force on the maturation of the cells. He/she will apply different external force regimes to test how forces impact the maturation of the cultures. Cell lines expressing fluorescently labelled sarcomere proteins will be used to image the dynamics of sarcomere assembly and maturation.Located on the Luminy campus, IBDM employs around 220 permanent researchers, lecturers, engineers and technicians, as well as non-permanent staff on fixed-term contracts, post-docs, PhD students and trainees, spread across 21 research teams and 11 technical platforms and services.
