Job Description: We are supporting an innovative organisation advancing the frontiers of drug discovery, with a particular focus on developing therapeutics for those with severe unmet need. They utilise cutting edge technology developed over several decades to discover new, effective and safe drugs in just a fraction of the time.
As part of their continued growth they are now seeking a talented biologist with capabilities in structural and functional analysis to define, propose and design the correct assays.
As a System Biology Analyst at our organization, you will become a valuable member of our Drug Discovery team, tasked with delineating the target of interest. Your work will involve the transformation of small molecules developed using our advanced technology into promising lead compounds, along with providing a comprehensive analysis of the biological context surrounding the target. Additionally, you will collaborate with Contract Research Organizations (CROs) to monitor and evaluate studies.
- Collaborate with the Drug Discovery team to ensure a profound understanding of the target.
- Propose and design assays in coordination with the DD team and external partners to construct an effective screening cascade for compound selection.
- Analyze and troubleshoot issues arising during the drug development process.
- Contribute to the innovation process by participating in the identification and selection of new projects.
- Prepare synopses and offer recommendations for the team.
- Scrutinize and question the results obtained from CROs.
Qualifications and Skills:
We are seeking individuals with a strong passion for drug development, the ability to generate innovative solutions, and a desire to expedite drug design.
- A Master’s degree, engineering diploma, or PhD in Biology or related fields.
- Several years of experience, academic or industrial
- Proficiency in biological structural and functional analysis.
- Expertise in molecular and cell biology including assay development
- Familiarity with RNA biology and RNA binding is beneficial
- Experience managing and working with external partners is beneficial
