Then keep on reading!You and your team will manage customer operations for the Rotterdam-Felixstowe, Rotterdam-Immingham, and Ijmuiden-Newcastle routes. You will ensure customs compliance and drive digital transformation and standardization to enhance customer experience. Additionally, you will support eco-friendly initiatives for these routes. You will collaborate with terminal operations, customer service, and cross-functional teams, reporting directly to the Route Director Netherlands to optimize operations.Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the Vlaardingen Customer Operations Team, ensuring a safe, positive, and motivating, work environment.
Develop and maintain a strong talent pipeline through strategic recruitment, training, and development programs.
Drive change management initiatives to adapt to evolving business needs and market conditions.
Enhance customer satisfaction by implementing digital transformation strategies and standardizing customer service processes.
Oversee and enhance freight activities on routes including Rotterdam – Felixstowe, Rotterdam – Immingham, and Ijmuiden – Newcastle, ensuring operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Lead sustainability initiatives within the operations team, promoting environmentally friendly practices and reducing the carbon footprint.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve operational performance.
Develop and manage relationships with customers, ensuring their needs are met and fostering long-term partnerships.
Represent the company at industry events, to enhance networking opportunities and business development.
Responsible for the AEO permit and thereby have the AEO role in the compliance team.
Ensure operations adhere to AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) standards, maintaining the highest levels of security and efficiency in the supply chain.
Implement and maintain robust quality assurance processes to uphold the highest standards of service and regulatory compliance.
Stay informed of changes in customs regulations and ensure the team is updated and trained accordingly.
Focus on collaboration with DFDS Logistics to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.

About you:The ideal candidate for this position has a proven track record in a managerial role within operations, customer service, or a related field, with a strong focus on customs activities. You also have:

Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, manage, and develop a diverse team.
A proactive mindset and the courage to challenge existing processes and drive continuous improvements.
Demonstrated success in driving digital transformation and process standardization.
Experience in building relationships and networking within the industry.
In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, AEO standards, and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Fluency in Dutch and English.
A good knowledge of the Microsoft Office package.
