The International School Utrecht is looking to recruit an enthusiastic person for the role Special Educational Needs Teacher.
Candidates with International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme experience will be taken into consideration first.Qualifications and experience:

• A degree in Special Needs Education (SEN) teaching qualification (DUO recognised)
• Experience teaching IB PYP is preferred
• Experience in writing individual learning plans (ILP’s)
• Experience in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
• A minimum of five years‘ classroom experience
• A minimum if two year’s experience working with SEN children

The ideal candidate should have the following attributes:

• Knowledge of Disabilities and Disorders: Familiarity with a wide range of special educational needs, including autism spectrum disorders (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, and other learning and developmental disabilities.
• Assessment Skills: Ability to assess and identify individual needs and create tailored educational plans.
• Differentiation: Skills in differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs and styles.
• Adaptability: Ability to modify teaching methods and materials to accommodate different abilities and learning styles.
• Inclusive practices: Strategies to create an inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners.
• Collaborative Skills: Working closely with parents, caregivers, other teachers, and support staff to ensure a coordinated approach to each child’s education.
• Assistive Technology: Proficiency in using assistive technologies and educational software designed to support SEN students.
• Mindset: a flexible mindset to improve the education continuously.
• Near-native level spoken and written English language.
